How Non-Conformists Move the World Adam grant

Introduction

This Book tells about the importation of people who chose to take risks for their ideas and freedom of action, rather than following the well-established system and its rules.

How Non-Conformists Move the World Adam grant
History is witness to how these courageous and Confident Individuals dared to do something different which no one else could think of.

They received complete rejections in return and many times an attempt was made to break them by giving them mental and physical heresies.

Some pioneers like Galileo were also shown fear of death due to their independent thinking and some were even mocked like Einstein who had not understood before.

Finally, some people had to endure unimaginable torture for their free-thinking.  Like Nelson Mandela for the exam. He spent many years of his life in prison because he dared to question the independence of South Africa.

In this book, Adam Grant has developed some such projections which will tell how the thinking of such people was.

And the most important thing that Adam Grant teaches is how we too can keep our thinking independent and non-conformist...

Do you want to know some tips about how we should keep our thinking different, think of something that no one has been able to think about before?

If your answer is yes then stay with us.  We will try our best to expand such concepts through real-life stories which are very important.

So that you too can put those concepts in your real life. It happens many times that it becomes difficult for us to bring big ideas into everyday life.  But we would like to make it a little easier for you.

Summary

One of the most important terms Adam Grant uses is the word "originals".  Originals are not just those who have a talent, a passion, some motivation, but everyone can become an original, even a very modest person.

But before any person can become original, it is most important that they change their way of thinking.

A simple way of doing this is to ask me a question: "Why do I think like this?" Will everyone think like me or have I reached this conclusion alone?

This simple question has proved very helpful when we have to understand the differences between ideas and ideas based on the social norm and between individual and original ideas.  Let's understand this with an example.

Alexander loved his hometown club.  He had learned to play football there and he used to attend regular matches.

He also decorated his room with the color of his favorite club.  However, as he grew older he and his friends got away from the games due to travel...

Although there was never any problem, once Alexander fought with the Supporters of the Home Club.

He later realizes to what extent the fight could have been dangerous as the fans of Alexander and the rest of the hometown club were few.

And from above, their enemies could outnumber them.  Bottles, bets, and whatnot they had to fit.

Alexander saw how such a situation had become so bad in Bato Bato only when his friends abused him. After that, bottles were being thrown at them, so that Alexander did not get time to escape.

It was good that he did not get any injury but some of his friends were injected. Later when they returned home, Alexander noticed this entire incident.  He concluded that it was a meaningless fight that could be avoided.

If he did not support his hometown club in this way, then this foot could have been stopped.  But unfortunately, many of his friends were against this peaceful stance.

He wanted to revenge this fight.  None of them even wanted to think what the reason behind this hat was.

At first, Alexander found it very difficult to cope with this pressure.  He was not engaged with his friends, so some of his friends had thought of some insulting "little crybaby" or "bottle phobia" like Nick's name for him.

Needless to say that Alexander was very surprised to see all this happen, he was sad that people did not understand his words and the most heartbreaking thing was the behavior of his friends.  But he had thought that he would not back down from his stand.

"Not even an inch" he used to say to himself.  He knew that there was a simple logic in his talk.  It was his logic, "This is our club, which represents our love for our home town, our small town."  Which is a good thing, then should we do bad things to support good things? 'I don't think so'.

He tried to convert the same thing to his friends.  Although he did not mind. They could not see this thing logically.

So now Alexander also stopped attending his away games and even used to sit separately from his friends in home games. And after few months, things started changing.

She and her friends were also being injected, some had become quite serious.  He too was now being duped into his thinking.

One after the other, all of them came to Alexander, confessed their mistake, and sorry to ask him to behave. Alexander also forgave him by smiling and once again everyone was friends.

Generating and selecting ideas: These two steps are independent and non-conformist for thinking. Its simple meaning is that before developing and spreading the ideas, it needs to be selected and sent to its details. Here we can see that there is a two-process process - generating ideas and selecting ideas.

In the generation face, we mostly prefer quality over quality.  In other words, we do not show much interest in how good the ideas are, but rather we want them of more quality.  - Slapping the second face is where we get a little pinched i.e. Zhuji with our pieces.

Here we reduce the number of ideas that we generated in First Face.  So in this second face, we become a little more self-critical.

From the exam that we are going to give next, you will understand it easily in understanding this concept.  Mark was an ordinary student. Neither excellent nor very bad average in the studies.

Yes, but he had a significant amount in the bank which he had deposited for some years.  Also, he had some good ideas to invest his money.

But he did not invest anywhere yet.  He knew that he could invest his money in food-related work as a restaurant or take away.  But initially, he did not pay much attention to this opportunity.

He was studying biology and everything was going great.  But when the last year of college was about to end, he was beginning to feel some strangeness.

He wanted to do something, something risky.  After studying biology, he did not see any thrill in a slow and stable job.

He wanted to do something different, so he sat down and started thinking about it deeply... Many ideas of his mind-populous business came up.  Then he wrote all the ideas in a paper.  His list was made like this.

 1. Restaurant

 2. Take away

 3. Fast Food

 4. Asian Food

 5. Italian Food

 6. Russian Food

After this, he sat down and thought about the details of every opportunity.  After taking down all the alters, he liked the idea of opening the restaurant.

Russian food did not seem to appeal to him much, nor did he know anything about it.

"How did this come to my mind?"  Mark was surprised. Yes, Italian food was interesting but he remembered that some Italian restaurant is open in his small town.

He knew that if he too would open the Italian restaurant, the competition would be very tough.

On the other hand, Asian food looked like a bomb.  There was no Asian food restaurant in his town.  And if someone opens the first time, then it will be an advantage for them.

He also loved Asian food from above and he also had some knowledge of it.  Whenever he used to eat Asian food, he used to talk to his staff members about it, even some shares of it.

He also had some Asian friends.  He felt that some advice should be taken from those friends this year.  And his friends knew some people who had worked in Asian food restaurants.

And the most important thing was that he had also found a chef who was looking for a job at this time.

Now we can see here how Alexander generated only ideas in the first step, at that time he did not think about those ideas, and then once he generated all the ideas, only then he got the good of every idea and  Baid analyzed the aspect and reached the conclusion that opening the Asian food restaurant will be the best batter.

Voicing And Championing New Ideas

This next step is to develop your idea and take benefits from it, voicing and championing new ideas means how you will transmit your ideas, how to debit them.

How will they defend him from the critique?  This is a complex process that needs a bit more process.

Adam Grant argues that if others want to convert about their idea, then analyze your idea so much Thorold that you know both its good and bedsides.

This will mean that even if someone debates, you can also mentor the bedsides and show people that you are well prepared for any situation.

But at the same time, you should also have a backup plan to deal with it.  This is a presentation technology that has already been researched in the field of social psychology.

Let's now see a good example of this practice: We will once again talk about Mark, who wanted to open an Asian restaurant in his small hometown.

Needless to say that not everyone liked his idea.  In particular, his mother seemed to think this idea "Stupid".

Now the problem was that Mark had to convert his mother only because she needed some funds and also some advice about the restaurant business.

Because his mother had worked in restaurants before.  He knew that his mother is a personal person, but when he told his mother about his idea with great enthusiasm, she started to behave quite stubbornly.

She did not like this idea at all, so she did not want to talk about it.  Now Mark thought to approach this problem with a different perspective... He was convinced that there would be no point in mentoring only the good side of his business idea.

Anchored by this matter and sat thinking anxiously about this Endeavor, which he had not yet thought.  And he was surprised that there are so many small details that can go against him immediately.

For example, that small town was very conservative for it - it was not that people liked Asian food but people did not like it so much nor did they give it any high regard.  He was surprised how he forgot such an important factor.

He also realizes that his business is not going to give him any profit for a few years.  This was also surprising because till now he was assuming that he would start earning a lot as soon as he started a business.

Now that he had understood reality, he spoke to his mother once again.  But this time he started counting the bedside of the business in his talk.

"Look mother," she said I know well that there is a lot of risk in the Asian food business, I feel strange thinking that our Red Neck Neighbor will come to our restaurant to try it once ".  But I have also thought of a solution for this.

We will not only make burgers and other common items but will also give advertisements that our food here is very spicy.  I think this is what links our cuisine to Asian food, and people will come to think the same.  I'm just not thinking that much

The matter of profit is also in my mind.  I know that initially, this business of ours will not give so much profit, at least not for two years.  Therefore, you will get your money back for a while.  And because I am investing all my money, we do not even need a loan.

Now it is a simple matter that I will think of returning your money as soon as I earn a profit.  And according to my calculation, by operating the restaurant at half capacity, I will return the money to you in a few months. "

Now there is no need to tell that his mother had understood the whole thing and without any fictitious argument, Mark got the money loaned from his mother.

Managing Emotions

Even if your idea has gone and you have started your new adventure, then the fight is not over yet.  Rather, another problem, namely the emotional battle, is yet to start.  How many hurdles you still have to cross before getting success, some small ones, and some big ones.  One thing is pure.

The hurdles will come and you will also have to face them.  There will be hurdles such as no profit, leaving staff work, no support of friends, everything can happen to you.

And if you do not learn to be all these overcome, then it will become a pain in your head and you will start to doubt yourself whether your decision is right or not.

This book will explain to you how to identify and control the bassed emotional responses and how to reduce the chances of acting out the most important thing.

But managing emotion is not just to control negative emotions, it also involves taking Anger control and taking inspiration from others.

We all know the story of Steve Jobs.  If you know this a little better then you will know this thing.  Especially in the initial face, everything does not go perfectly.  Therefore, Steve Jobs also had to know, inadvertently, to use some such strategies that enabled him to manage his emotions and move towards success.

These lesser people would know that in 1986, John Scully, who was at the top of the Apple company at the time, fired Steve Jobs and how did Steve Jobs react to it?

When he was fired, he said, "Getting fired from the job was like a blessing for me.  Now I am free from all kinds of boundaries and I can freely narrate my vision about home computers ”.

You can see that this is a perfect example of something that is called "Strategic Optimism".  Instead of crying over his luck in the sorrow of quitting jobs, he focused on the good sides of it.

"Ok, let's look at what we can do now, not what has been done". Perhaps this is what Steve Jobs and those like Strategic Optimism Employers think in a situation that the rest of the common people see in the eyes of one  Problem is a problem.

Steve Jobs was also famous for his ability to spark anthropomorphism and optimism in his employees.  We had mentioned that this is the most important part of managing emotion.

Jobs was an expert in motivating the logo because he was also a very good storyteller.  He had a wealth of stories that he used to use as metaphors to solve real-life problems.

For example, the story of Abraham Lincoln is very motivational.  Of course, he later became a president, but few people know what his life was like before becoming a president.  Abraham Lincoln was a very unlucky person,

Many such people came in front of them when they could embrace death and say goodbye to life because they had such difficulties in life. When their mother Nancy died, she was only 9 years old.

His stepmother Sarah, whom he loved very much, died soon after Lincoln married his father.  They had 4 sons, out of which only one had survived.  Lincoln was never able to overcome this loss.  Nor is his wife Mary.

And though Lincoln was completely shattered by these sufferings, he went ahead in life and achieved such a position that very few people are likely to get a chance.

The story of Abraham Licken is one of the many stories that you can motive by listening to people.

Sometimes you have to find a story that can fit in that situation by convincing some context.  Now let us return to the story of Steve Jobs.

We were talking about how Steve Jobs used to motivate people with his storytelling.  But he had one more card.  Listening more than what was spoken.

At a particular conference where he knew he might have to face harsher criticism, he turned the microphone intently to the public and simply said, "I'll talk about what you want to talk about."  The whole crowd was completely surprised to hear this.

Creating And Managing Collisions Coalitions

This is the last step that Adam Grant mentions, which is fairly simple - it is very important to have a good and strong relationship with people to gain any success.

It is difficult that someone has achieved success without getting help from others.  We saw how Steve Jobs used to give value to his cousin's opinion.  And this was also the main region behind his success.

Recognizing your enzymes and your "phrenitis" can be brutal in this stage.  Phonemes are those who offer you initially and then start doubting your abilities.

These people are worse than Open Enemies. Adam Grant also says that we should discuss business with our anime because sometimes its benefits also come out.

And according to Adam Grant, people who have ever been our enemies, once they become friends, play friendship throughout their lives.

Conclusion

Now in front of you, we have put the most important ideas of this book together.

Due to space retention, we will not be able to execute every small detail which is the main issue in the book, but we have tried our best to put the most important concepts in the summary and to expand them from real-life stories.

Here are some of the most important things you should remember:

1. Anyone can become an original and non-conformist: - It is not something that is born.  In your life, you become a non-conformist or a simple person who is part of the crowd.

However, it is important to know this important thing that it is not a bad thing to be a part of the crowd every time.  However, the Opinion of the Majority should never be exposed without thinking.

2. Generating and selecting ideas: These are the two first steps before developing an individual and original ideas.  These two steps will also help you to narrow down your choice so that you can get the best idea.

3. Voicing and Championing of New Ideas: 'As we said, you can apply this method of transmitting your idea.

Because getting the success of others will be almost impossible.  If not today, then tomorrow you will have to share your idea with others.  And it will be important for you to know how to do it in the best way.

4. Managing Emotions - The path to success is not easy.  Whether you want to or not, you will have to face Obstacle, and it is also sure that no matter how many times you have to be hurt.  It is good to cry on your past that some techniques should be learned so that you can overcome these obstacles.

5. Creating and Maintaining Collation: We have already mentored this when we talked about voicing and championing new ideas.  In this section, you can learn why we should discuss things with our animals too so that you can debate with them and get new ideas, but yes, avoid "prisms".
